  8. Deacon's Benevolence Fund - Benevolence: "A disposition to do good. An act of kindness." Did you know that the Board of Deacons has a Benevolence Fund? Do you know what it is for? Do you know where the monies come from and where they go?

The purpose of the Deacons Benevolence Fund is to help those in need. It may be a person from the community or within our church family. There are monies available to help with immediate needs such as rent, utilities, food, medical etc. A person only needs to contact the church office with their particular need. A small committee of Deacons review the request before monies is dispersed. All requests are kept confidential.

The Deacons raise money for this fund through the Strawberry Festival, holiday flowers, and other various fundraisers. By attending the Strawberry Festival, ordering flowers during Easter and Christmas and supporting any of the deacons' other fundraiser, you are helping to do good and are performing an act of kindness to others.

Please help to support the various fundraisers held by the Deacons or consider making a donation to the Deacons Benevolence Fund. Should you know someone or find yourself in need of the Deacons Benevolence Fund, please contact the church office.
  9. Food Pantry - SKEET'S PANTRY NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT! OUR SHELVES ARE LOW

We're still seeing more and more people in need of food each month, with several new folks arriving monthly, too. The shelves are looking a little empty, so we could use your help again.

    We especially need:

Cereal(family size boxes are particularly useful)
    Tuna Fish (in cans)
    Soup(in cans)

    Canned Fruit
    Laundry Detergent and Toothpaste.
    Brown paper bags

Please remember to check the dates on any food donations to be sure they haven't expired. Just put your donations in the wheelbarrow outside church on Sunday or leave bags in the front hall of our Parish House.

And please pat yourselves on the back for being such wonderful neighbors to the people in our surrounding communities who have fallen on hard times. We're averaging at least 150 people (parents and children as well as senior citizens) who are turning to us for help on the third Friday of each month (8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.). THANK YOU and God's Blessings to you for making the mission of Skeet's Pantry possible.
  10. Inquirer's Class - Are you interested in joining the First Presbyterian Church? Inquirers Class will meet in the spring in the church library at 9:15 am for those interested in learning about or joining our church. To sign up, phone 395-0897 or email the church office.
  11. Senior Fellowship - Senior Fellowship needs able bodied volunteers to assist with setting tables, distributing beverages, serving dessert, helping individuals as the need arises or acting as a chaperone on trips. Senior Fellowship runs about 10 programs per year for people age 55 and up either in Fellowship Hall or as day trips. You do not need to be a senior, help with all the programs, or attend any meetings, just commit to what you fits your schedule. For this program to continue we need enough volunteers. Please contact the church office if interested.
  12. Web Content Changes - Send all requests to webmaster@cranburypres.org by Wednesday for update by Saturday.
